A corporate bank is seeking a Credit Associate to join their team in Taiwan. This is an excellent opportunity for you to facilitate the credit approval process, undertake meticulous credit analysis, and uphold rigorous risk management standards across an extensive portfolio of corporate clients.
What you‘ll do:
In the capacity of Credit Associate, you will be entrusted with gathering essential financial data from corporate clients, performing thorough analyses utilising advanced modelling techniques, composing comprehensive reports for new accounts or renewals, and preparing persuasive deal proposals aligned with strategic priorities.
• Work in close concert with team leaders and Relationship Managers to realise profit objectives by ensuring prompt approvals from headquarters for new accounts and business renewals
• Deliver exemplary service to both internal and external stakeholders, thereby enhancing the bank’s reputation through effective communication and adept problem resolution
• Collect, analyse, and interpret financial statements and company accounts in partnership with Relationship Managers to underpin well-informed credit decisions
• Collaborate with Compliance and KYC teams to guarantee that all transactions are conducted in strict accordance with regulatory requirements, including Know Your Customer protocols and sanctions compliance
• Engage with Credit Risk Management to comprehend governance frameworks for credit limits within the branch, ensuring all undertakings are consistent with internal policies
• Secure requisite internal approvals for new transactions, account openings, renewals, and product delivery within stipulated timelines to uphold operational efficiency
• Exercise vigilant control over credit risk across your client portfolio by conducting regular credit analyses, preparing Borrower Rating Reviews, and reporting findings expeditiously to preclude potential losses
• Draft detailed deal proposals and credit applications that align with business strategy, ensuring pricing structures satisfy both client requirements and organisational imperatives
• Undertake financial modelling on client businesses to support deal proposals, participating in relevant committees as necessary to provide further insights or information
• Assist senior staff in elevating the quality of credit applications, monitoring processes, disseminating policy updates, preparing presentation materials for clients, supporting departmental projects as directed by management, assisting audits through documentation preparation
What you bring:
To excel in this role, you should demonstrate practical experience in scrutinising financial statements and constructing detailed reports that inform strategic direction.
• A degree qualification provides a robust academic foundation
• At least 5 years’ experience within the financial or banking sector
• Demonstrated analytical aptitude enabling you to interpret intricate data sets effectively and compose lucid, insightful reports that inform prudent decision-making
• Exceptional communication skills allowing you to present technical information persuasively when supporting recommendations or influencing outcomes among stakeholders
• Experience or substantial knowledge in developing data models and projections that underpin rigorous financial analysis for corporate banking transactions
• Comprehensive understanding of local financial statutes and regulations pertinent to banking operations in Taiwan ensures full compliance throughout all undertakings
• Proficiency in English equips you to interact confidently with international counterparts and prepare documentation suitable for global scrutiny
