【Overview】
We are seeking a full-time Compliance Engineer in Taiwan. In this role, you will be responsible for providing compliance support and project planning to ensure EMC, safety, and radio transmitter compliance across multiple Garmin locations throughout the product development process.
This is a hands-on technical role that goes beyond administrative task handling; we are looking for an engineer who can actively inspect test samples, troubleshoot setup issues, and potentially drive practical solutions with design team.
【Essential Functions】
• Partners with Garmin Technology leaders to deliver best-in-class products in the Marine, Outdoor and Fitness markets, utilizing leading technologies in GPS navigation, wearables, high-end audio systems, marine environments, and non-terrestrial network communication.
• Creates and implements comprehensive regulatory compliance plans for product development programs.
• Assists in advanced regulatory and standards research on new technologies, markets, and geographic regions.
• Demonstrates a strong hands-on approach by actively inspecting test samples to verify configurations, and potentially diagnosing and resolving basic test setup or hardware issues.
• Identifies compliance-related risks, effectively communicates potential threats, and suggests practical means for avoiding or reducing risks.
• Provides compliance direction and regulatory input during the product design process, and participates in compliance and safety design review meetings.
• Proposes general approaches and specific solutions to compliance problems, offers process improvements, and authors new procedures with oversight.
【Basic Qualifications】
• Bachelor‘s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field AND a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with ESD, EMC, EMI, or product safety testing, and country certifications or homologations.
• Proven hands-on engineering capability; distinct from purely administrative compliance roles, with the ability to confidently interface with hardware and test equipment.
• Understands production and operations issues as they relate to compliance engineering.
• Experience reviewing basic to moderate EMC or safety design aspects for circuit design/PCB layout.
• Ability to explain and document regulatory and standards requirements and constructively critique compliance plans written by teammates.
• Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated professional English reading, writing, and communication skills.
