Established in 1987 and headquartered in Taiwan, TSMC pioneered the pure-play foundry business model with an exclusive focus on manufacturing its customers’ products. In 2023, the company served 528 customers with 11,895 products for high performance computing, smartphones, IoT, automotive, and consumer electronics, and is the world’s largest provider of logic ICs with annual capacity of 16 million 12-inch equivalent wafers. TSMC operates fabs in Taiwan as well as manufacturing subsidiaries in Washington State, Japan and China, and its ESMC subsidiary plans to begin construction on a fab in Germany in 2024. In Arizona, TSMC is building three fabs, with the first starting 4nm production in 2025, the second by 2028, and the third by the end of the decade.
We are seeking a motivated Junior Legal Compliance Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with native-level English fluency, strong communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities and solid legal expertise. This position is ideal for a legal professional with foundational experience who is eager to grow and develop expertise in regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and subsidiary management.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in monitoring and ensuring subsidiary companies comply with relevant laws and regulations by working independently and in collaboration with external experts and overseas in-house counsels. Key areas include personal data protection laws (such as GDPR) and securities regulations across various jurisdictions.
2. Conduct legal research and provide advice on compliance-related matters.
3. Support the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures across subsidiary companies.
4. Assist in managing subsidiary governance and corporate documentation.
5. Provide guidance and oversight to ensure subsidiaries adhere to internal policies, as well as local and international regulatory requirements.
6. Address routine and ad-hoc legal and compliance inquiries, providing practical recommendations to stakeholders.
7. Facilitate communication and coordination with local and overseas internal teams and external experts.
8. Assist in developing and executing compliance training and awareness programs for employees.
