    Main purpose of job: The Corporate Services Officer supports the effective delivery of post language arrangements, community liaison support, protocol services, deputy ITSO duties, information management, and line management responsibilities. The post holder will provide reliable, practical, and customer-focused support to staff and families, while helping maintain compliant, well-organised, and efficient corporate services systems. The role requires sound judgement, discretion, strong administrative discipline, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, external providers, and local authorities. The role sits within the Corporate Services team and contributes to the smooth running of the platform by supporting operational delivery, staff welfare, compliance, and service continuity. The post holder will be expected to manage a varied portfolio, balance routine processes with urgent requests, and maintain accurate records across several work areas. Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve? Post Language Officer (20%) Coordinate post language student arrangements (Full time or Optional), including engagement with training providers, scheduling, enrolment tracking, attendance monitoring, budget support, and record keeping. Provide timely updates to managers and students, escalate issues where needed, and help ensure language training is delivered efficiently and within agreed processes. Community Liaison Officer (20%) Provide practical advice, information, and welfare-related signposting to UK-based staff and families. Support arrivals, settling-in processes, local information sharing, community communications, and the maintenance of useful guidance for staff and dependants. Work sensitively and discreetly when handling personal or welfare-related matters. Protocol Services (20%) Support local protocol administration, including arrivals and departures, ID cards, visas, work permits, local authority liaison, and related record management. Track progress, follow up outstanding actions, and ensure staff receive clear guidance on protocol requirements. ITSO (20%) Lead on day to day ITSO activities and support users with their queries, local IT administration, hardware and asset tracking, routine IT checks, inventory maintenance, and IT budget coordination. Help ensure local IT processes are followed and records are accurate and up to date. Information management (10%) Act as Information Management Officer by promoting good records management, supporting compliance with information handling requirements, maintaining shared filing structures, encouraging good document discipline, and assisting with audits or checks where required. Line management (10%) Line Manage one of the Driver/Corporate Services Support Assistants, setting priorities, supporting performance and development, ensuring effective task allocation, and providing guidance on transport, finance-record, inventory, delivery, and administrative support tasks. Promote a respectful, inclusive, and service-focused team culture. Resources managed (staff and expenditure) • 1 x AA-S1 Essential qualifications, skills and experience: • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and follow through on multiple workstreams. • Good judgement, discretion, and confidence handling sensitive personal, welfare, operational, and corporate information. • Clear written and verbal communication skills (English & Mandarin), including the ability to explain processes, produce practical guidance, and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders. • Experience working with internal stakeholders, external service providers, local authorities, or similar partner organisations. • Good knowledge of IT including confidence using Microsoft Office applications and maintaining accurate records, trackers, inventories, and shared files. • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and escalate risks or issues appropriately. Desirable qualifications, skills and experience: • Previous experience working in a diplomatic, government, international organisation, or regulated corporate environment. • Understanding of good customer service, inclusive communication, and professional discretion.     Main purpose of job: The UK delivers programme work in Taiwan, including to support its resilience in an uncertain international context. We are looking for an additional programme manager to support the development and oversight of this programme. The programme extends over a range of thematic areas, delivered in partnership with a broad range of implementing partners, and has the potential to grow further. This position will be managed by the Head of Programmes, who has the overarching responsibility for delivering this portfolio of programme work. The sensitive nature of some of this work means that this role is only open to nationals from FVEYS or Western European countries. Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve? Project management (50%) Lead on the day-to-day management of assigned projects to maximise impact, minimise risk and maintain compliance with the FCDO Programme Operating Framework. This will include working with policy leads across British Office Taipei to ensure that projects are designed, mobilised and delivered in line with strategic objectives. Financial management (10%) Lead on the management of project finances to track and scrutinize spend, make payments and ensure value for money. Governance (10%) Support the Head of Programmes to manage programme governance, including programme boards and central reporting. Conflict sensitivity (10%) Work with Conflict Advisers to embed conflict sensitivity across the programme and develop best practice. Monitoring and evaluation (10%) Support the Head of Programmes to design and embed monitoring and evaluation best practice, and demonstrate project and programme level impact. Compliance (10%) Support the delivery of broader British Office Taipei small projects by understanding HMG compliance requirements and helping project leads to meet these through-out the delivery cycle. Additional information: This is a fixed term role of 2 years with possibility of extension. Nationality requirements: • Due to the role responsibilities and requirements, the successful applicant must be capable of achieving SC level clearance. • Please note that eligibility for SC clearance is restricted to nationals of FVEYS or Western European countries (NB: cannot be a dual national holding a Taiwanese passport).
