Essential Duties:
• Create and send all Asian Purchase Orders and all needed accompanying
documentation to the Asian suppliers so that replenishment process goes
smoothly.
• Work with the suppliers to answer all of their questions and to resolve
issues. Issue resolution can be sourcing, pricing, inventory management,
quality, or other issue related to a purchase order
• Review and process the Vessel Receipts for ocean freight departing Asian
ports
• Process and distribute quarterly Supplier Scorecards for preferred suppliers
regardless of geographic location.
• Assist as needed in preparation and meetings with supplier business reviews and supplier audits.
• There will be ongoing review and adding of tasks to this position from those currently done in the US in order to balance the workloads and reduce the need for overtime and/or interns.
• Serve as a proactive and strategic contact for existing supplier base.
• Professionally establish, maintain, and grow existing supplier relationships.
• Service inventory management and consignment systems.
• Responsible for account margins, inventory turns, and on-time delivery.
• Actively working with existing customers to identify new business
opportunities.
• Maintain awareness of the marketplace, the competitive environment, the
customers’ industry and position in order to recommend strategies and
projects.
Education/Training:
• Associate degree and/or a combination of education and equivalent work experience in Engineering, Quality, or related field required.
• Bi-lingual in Mandarin and English for speaking, reading, and writing.
Work Experience Requirements:
• Some mechanical aptitude that can be applied to the technical requirements
of this position.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related role required.
• Engineering or Quality Technician/Lab Testing Experience, beneficial.
• Working knowledge of threaded fasteners, preferred.
• Some knowledge of “c” class items beneficial.
• Previous fastener distribution and/or fastener manufacturing experience,
beneficial.
Technical Skills or other Requirements:
• Excellent communication skills with external and internal customers
• Ability to work well in a Team environment
• Able to work successfully in a deadline-driven, fast paced environment and
effectively multi-task multiple priorities in a team-oriented environment
• Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing requirements and schedules
• Proven problem solving ability.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Windows based Applications, especially
Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments, beneficial.
• Ability to use inspection/lab equipment, beneficial.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Data analysis skills coupled with chart development abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
• Fundamental knowledge of mathematical concepts.
