• To meet company manufacturing policy, objectives and goals.
• Plan, set up and carrying out experiments and syntheses according to agreed objectives, scopes, requirements and timeframe.
• Perform laboratory testing, analysis, data interpretation and report preparation.
• Verify and assure reliability of test results and evaluates accuracy of test results.
• Write analytical reports and present results to customers
• Develop new test methods with guidance from superior.
• Prepare and update test method and calibration or validation as required.
• Responsible for the validation, modification and implementation of new or existing equipment or test method with guidance from superior.
• To maintain, control and calibrate laboratory analytical equipment to be working in a good manner at all time. Troubleshoot equipment when necessary.
• Liaise with external provider for preventive maintenance of laboratory analytical equipment.
• Ensure good inventory of laboratory chemicals, equipment and materials. Request for SDS, TDS, manual, certificate or relevant document.
• Request filter samples for testing or replacement for lab usage.
• Liaise with external lab for testing not available in house (sub-contracting of test).
• Raise Purchase Requisition for items related to testing/analysis work and obtain approval from superior.
• To verify reception and storage of chemical / reagent / equipment used for the technical operations of the laboratory.
• Maintain proper records, documentation and retrievable database in each handling project.
• Maintain results and reports in organize and retrievable database.
• To supervise, assess and ensure all personnel under his/her control are adequately trained for the function they are expected to perform and able to deliver accurate and reliable testing services.
• Planning and coordinating daily jobs objectively and delegate work amongst laboratory personnel.
• Ensure the implementation and monitor the effectiveness of quality control activities.
• Troubleshooting for technical solutions.
• Communicate with the customers pertaining to test results.
• To arrange Proficiency Testing with Proficiency Testing provider and Inter-laboratory Comparison.
• Accountable for the compliance of the laboratory safety rules and practices.
• To ensure that the correct PPE (inclusive of lab coat) is available and used whereby disciplinary action can be taken when this rule is not obeyed.
• Manage and ensure cleanliness and tidiness of laboratory area in order to create a safe working environment.
• Conduct testing/monitoring at customer site.
• To do all preparation for any customer site visit in term of transportation and accommodation for the testing/monitoring work according to Employee Handbook.
• To ensure compliances to regulatory bodies requirement, internal procedures and any relevant legislation governing the project undertaken.
• To verify and certify the Test Report if he/she is an approved signatory by STANDARDS .
• To protect the customer confidential information and proprietary rights.
• To ensure all projects undertaken, coordinated, overseen or participated in by the department are efficiency and effectively completed within the specified deadlines.
• Implement Occupational Health and Safety procedures and ensure staff follow all safety procedures.
• Responsible for all activities related to Quality, Health, Safety, Environment, Energy and Laboratory.
• Carry out duties in accordance with Quality, Health, Safety, Environment, Energy and Laboratory Policy, Procedure and SOP.
• To perform any other duties as assigned by your superior/company from time to time.
