Overview
We are seeking a full-time Technical Support Specialist - Audio in Taiwan. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and training on Garmin‘s audio products to regional distributors and boat OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers).
Essential Functions
• A deep, practical, understanding of audio system such as speakers, amplifiers and Digital Signal Processors (DSP).
• Act as embedded Garmin technical representative to ensure installations meet Garmin standards for quality and functionality
• Provide on-site support of OEM Installations and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment
• Maintains expert Garmin Audio product knowledge. Leads field investigations and responses for critical issues.
• Investigate and deliver product information for new products and services to regional distributors by creating or coordinating the creation of knowledgebase content and structure
• Creates, reviews and delivers tech training materials on time and with accurate and relevant information
• Provides counsel regarding troubleshooting and resolution of problems of the product in the field and issues with process by interacting with various internal departments
• Demonstrates strong communication skills. Ability to work in a collaborative team environment to achieve goals
• Leverages resources to efficiently complete tasks and/or projects of moderate complexity with limited process definition
• Complies with associate and departmental guidelines
• Exemplifies Garmin’s Mission Statement, Vision, Values and Quality Policy and enthusiastically exhibits a desire to see Garmin succeed
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Military/Trade school training OR a minimum of 3 years relevant experience
• Possess a minimum of 3 years work experience performing audio system installation/troubleshooting
• Preferable with experience in the field either as sales staff or installers for retailers.
• Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and a superior customer-oriented attitude
• Must possess a demonstrated proficiency using personal computers and software applications, including Microsoft Word & Outlook
• Must be positive, detail/quality oriented, organized, analytical, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment with excellent time management and follow-up skills
